Celebrate the 4th of July in Austin Social Distancing Style

Fourth of July celebrations this 2020 may be different than how we used to celebrate it. Some events have been canceled and modified due to the current situation where everyone’s well-being is vital. Despite that, here are some events and activities you can do to celebrate the Fourth of July in Austin, social distancing style.

1. 4th of July Celebration at Blue Starlite Mini Drive-in

For a one of a kind Fourth of July celebration in Austin, Blue Starlite will be playing different movies such as Independence Day, Cabin in the Woods, Dirty Dancing, and Jaws. A fireworks show will then be held after on their screen. Bring some goods from home so you don’t have to leave your car once you’re in the grounds.

2. Red, White, Buda Fireworks Show

The morning parade has been canceled but the city of Buda will continue to host two firework shows to be launched from the Buda Sportsplex and the City Park from 9:15 to 9:30 pm. To ensure social distancing practices, there will be no parking at the said locations.

3. Fire in the Sky

The City of Drippings Springs has approved the Fire in the Sky from the DS Sports and Recreation park behind HEB but it will be closed to all spectators. Find a socially distant spot to watch the fireworks from the downtown Dripping Springs/Mercer St Area.

4. Kyle Independence Day Celebration

The City of Kyle will be holding an Independence Day Celebration Fireworks Show which starts at 9 p.m. and will be launched from Plum Creek Golf Course.

5. Lago Vista 4th of July

In response to the COVID-19, the 4th of July Council has decided that Lago Vista 4th of July with not host the annual 5k, parade, and other associated events of July 4th. However, for a safe method of celebrating independence day, Lago Vista will be having the biggest fireworks show in their area presented by Brohn Homes – LIGHTS OVER LAGO. Lago Vista will also be partnering with Lago Radio to provide music during the show which you can stream live through the City app and the Lago Radio website.

6. Lakeway 4th of July

Lakeway will not be hosting a parade or ceremony to ensure the health and safety of the residents. Although there will be a firework show that will take place around 9:30 pm from an elevated location in Rough Hollow which can be viewable from several points in the city. The fireworks show will also be available online for live streaming.

7. Leander Fourth of July

Liberty Fest will be canceled due to the county and state guidelines to minimize public risk, therefore, this year’s Fourth of July Celebration will be a ticketed event with limited vehicle parking and guest seating. Social distancing must be observed. There will be a fireworks show around 9:30 pm and a free video live stream will be available too.

8. Pflugerville Pfireworks Pfestival

Typhoon Texas is hosting a Pflugerville Pfirecracker Pfestival to celebrate the Fourth of July. Enjoy the firework show from the surrounding areas while social distancing at the Hendrickson High School, Stone Hill Town Center, and Costco. For everyone’s safety, it is recommended to stay inside your vehicle.

9. Taylor Annual 4th Of July Fireworks

The Taylor, Texas Community presents Fireworks in the Park on July 4th at dusk. The fireworks can be seen almost everything in the park’s vicinity.
