1. Songs Under the Stars

Where: The People’s Plaza at ZACH Theatre

When: Throughout April

Throughout April, live performances return to ZACH theatre with Songs Under the Stars. The social distanced outdoor series features five concerts over eight weekends from Thursdays through Sundays each week by esteemed performances and an outdoor bar with views of the Austin skyline.

2. Moontower Comedy Series

Where: The Paramount Theatre and other locations

When: Throughout April

The funniest, wittiest, and oddest world-class comics presented by the Paramount Theatre each year. This spring, national headliners, up-and-corners, and local comedians will grace the stage for a fun and hilarious spring series.

3. Tuesday Twilight

Where: Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

When: Through May 11th

Every late Tuesday, this Spring, the Wildflower Center stays open to make more hours for wildflowers. Invite your significant other, a distanced night out with your friends, or experience the solo solace as spring does its thing. Each night features live music from local musicians, visual artists, with Austin's favorite local food trucks and beverages within the location.

4. Indie Meme Festival

Where: Virtual Event

When: April 16th - April 25th

Stream through-provoking independent films from South Asia that captivating, stylish, and entertaining while also being able to reflect on social, political, and cultural realities. A badge to the festival includes LIVE screenings of 25 features and shorts, Q&A's, and access to badge-holder exclusive, on-demand catch-up windows.

5. Weird Homes Tour

Where: Around Town

When: TBA

Experience what "Keep Austin Weird" is all about! Tour a selection of homes of collectors of oddities, rare art collectors, performance artists, painters, sculptors, and architects in cities all across the world. Virtual and physical tours are available!

6. Art City Austin

Celebrate Austin's diverse art scene at Art City Austin. Browse and shop at the festival and market of up to 75 visual arts, designers, installation artists, and artisans showcasing and selling their work. This unique weekend event in Austin at the Republic Square features musicians, performance artists, and live demonstrations by local chefs, food trucks, boozy bevies, kid activities, and interactive experiences.

7. 2021 Bowl for Kids

Where: Virtual Event

When: April 23, 2021

Lights, camera, action! In 2021 BBBS will celebrate its 50th Anniversary with a special Bowl for Kids event – Tinseltown: The Golden Age of Hollywood. This annual fundraising campaign helps Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas provide professionally supported mentoring relationships for more children who need them.

8. Karaoke Empire with Ring My Bell

Where: 606 E. Seventh St., Austin, TX 78701

When: April 15th to April 29th

Karaoke Empire at Empire Garage will be outdoors with distanced seating where you can sing your heart out on a stage where legends have performed. Clean, new mics will be available for each performer and you can get them on the list from the comfort of your table. There will also be a round or two of Karaoke Bingo and other surprises that await you in this spring weather!

9. Trash Pick-Up In Your Local Park Or Greenspace

Where: Online

When: April 19th to April 23rd

Austin Parks Foundation invites virtual volunteers to join in keeping our communities clean with a solo trash pick-up at the park or greenspace of their choosing. Head out to your favorite local park and spend an hour walking while collecting trash and learning about your local environment. Don't forget to bring trash bags, a trash grabber, gloves, masks, and a hand sanitizer!

10. Butterfly Bonanza (+Bats & Bees)

Where: Science Mill

When: April 24th

Three cheers for pollinators: Butterflies! Bats! Bees! Butterfly Bonanza (+ Bats & Bees) returns to the Science Mill on Saturday, April 24. Through up-close encounters and hands-on activities, learn why these friendly flyers are crucial to our local ecosystem. Special activities run from 10am-2pm; explore the Science Mill’s 50+ hands-on exhibits inside and outdoors from 10am-4pm. Reserve your tickets online to help us ensure space for all and provide contact-free entry.
