Bouldin Creek is located across the river from Downtown Austin. The neighborhood is accessible via the bridges on South 1st Street and South Congress Avenue. It is bounded by Town lake and Downtown Austin to the north, Oltorf Street on the south. While South Congress Avenue is located to its east and the Union Pacific railroad tracking near South Lamar Boulevard to the west.

With over 250 restaurants, coffee shops, and bars in the area, people are able to walk to their local shops within an average of 6 minutes.

Becker Elementary and Travis Heights Elementary (PK-5) both provide dual-language programs. Fulmore Middle School (6-8) and William B. Travis High School (9-12) also serve the community. The neighborhood’s largest institutional resident is the 65-acre Texas School for the Deaf. As with all neighborhoods served by AISD, there are other magnet school options for residents.
