Fort Dessau is a Historical Texas Landmark established in 1873. D.R. Horton has preserved the historical Fort while including beautiful new homes in Pflugerville. The neighborhood took its name from the historic Texas homestead which was established in 1973. With a combination of the old with the new, it will become one of the most desirable and upcoming neighborhoods in Austin.
It is found near the intersection of Dessau Road and Howard Lane. There are new sections in Fort Dessau that have a range of designed floor plans with classic interior that starts from the low 200’s. Fort Dessau has easy access for commuters to IH-35, SH45, SH130, and Hwy. 183. Residents and shop and dine at La Frontera, Stone Hill Town Center, and The Domain. It also takes 23 minutes to downtown Austin and about 26 minutes to Bergstrom International Airport.
Plenty of recreational activities are available as well since the community is adjacent to Lake Pflugerville and Park residents can go fishing, swimming, jogging, canoeing, biking, and more. Hiking can be done through Walnut Creek Park and if you would like to tickle your tastebuds with something local, there are restaurants nearby such as Zed’s and Chuy’s.
