Loro Austin Review

Loro Austin Review

If you’re from Austin you might have heard about the restaurants Uchi/Uchiko and Franklin Barbeque, well the owners of these two fascinating restaurants have brought one of the best Texas and Asian BBQ in town--Loro Austin.

Loro is an Hai Hospitality Restaurant, Asian smokehouse and bar brought to you by James Beard Award winners Chef Tyson Cole and Aaron Franklin. The menu focuses on combining Texan and Asian influences that highlight smoked meats, sides, craft beer, and smoked cocktails. Who could’ve done it better than having two well-known personalities in their fields of Asian cuisine and traditional Texas BBQ?

The ambiance is presented to promote interactivity and has a feel of community dining because of its long spread tables and fancy outdoor and indoor lighting.

Good thing Loro Austin has minimized the wait time and makes their staff more efficient. They make use of GPS table trackers which is a huge help for their runners that won’t be walking around the place looking for the right table!

Located off of Lamar across from Black Sheep Lodge, this Asian-style smokehouse in Austin is run by the same owners of the famous Uchiko. Needless to say, they are my new favorite casual eatery.

The menu consists of anything from bar-style appetizers to smoked meats to rice bowls. The complex, delicious flavors of Southeast Asian food created the perfect balance for each dish. I went with my family and a friend and we ordered the Kale an Asian Pear Salad, the Szechuan Crispy Tofu Bowl, and of course, the Smoked Brisket. And wow, the best I can describe the flavor is...amazing. I'm taken away by how juicy and tender the meat was, as well as how innovative and integrative the appetizers were. As you can see in the video above, we were not disappointed.

The price point of the menu can be high, depending on what you order. However, they do feature a Happy Hour every weekday from 2 PM - 5 PM if you have some time to relax from your hectic day. The Gin and Tonic Boozy Slushie is worth the try. Loro Austin is chockfull of every type of seating that defends you from the Austin heat with an integrated outdoor mist system.

Bring your family! Hang out with your bros! Watch the sunset with your significant other! Overall, Loro off of South Lamar is a 10/10. Highly recommend!

It's said that they're opening in their new locations in Dallas and Houston in 2021. But if you can't wait to taste the mouth-watering dishes from Loro, especially the smoked brisket, visit them today at 2115 S Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78704!

Today, we are checking our Loro Restaurant on Lamar. One of the newest spots in 78704. We're gonna have some dinner here, check it out.

When I first walked into Loro, I was astounded by the relaxing environment this restaurant has. It has ample outdoor seating for lounging, dining, and chatting, which is perfect for enjoying the sunset in Austin.

For Appetizers, we ordered the Wonton Chips and Candied Kettle Corn, which were amazing. For entree, we got the Kale and Pear salad, Crispy Tofu Bowl, and their famous Smoked Briskets. This is the same brisket recipe they serve at Franklin's Barbecue.

Overall, Loro is an Asian-smokehouse and I highly recommend this restaurant. It's actually one of my favorite restaurants in Austin for casual dining.
