Before real estate, I spent more than 25 years brokering computer equipment from manufacturers such as Compaq, HP, and IBM into and out of data centers. That experience taught me how to evaluate assets, understand market value, negotiate complex transactions, and recognize that the best deal isn't always the one with the highest price. Those skills now serve my real estate clients.
I believe the most important part of real estate is representation. The concept of agency-the responsibility to represent another person's interests-is something I take seriously. My job isn't simply to help you buy or sell a house. It's to understand what matters to you, help you evaluate your options, and advocate for your interests throughout the process.
For buyers, that starts with listening. I want to understand what you're looking for, why it matters to you, and what you're willing to compromise on. Once we've established those priorities, I'll help you stay accountable to them. It's easy to get distracted by a beautiful kitchen or caught up in the excitement of a particular house. My role is to help you keep the bigger picture in focus so that the home you choose is one that fits the life you want to live.
For sellers, I start with a different question: What's your story? Why are you selling? What comes next? How much is it costing you to hold the property, and how burdensome are those costs? Are you prepared to make repairs, or would you prefer to sell the house as it is?
I don't believe every home needs to be in perfect condition to sell. I use a systematic approach to evaluate the market, comparable properties, and your home's current condition to help determine a realistic market price as it stands today. From there, we can develop a selling strategy that considers your priorities, the property's condition, the likely costs of preparation, and the financial and personal realities of holding the property while it remains on the market.
Every seller's situation is different. My goal is to understand yours before recommending a plan.
