TLC Austin Review
I'm embarrassed to admit that I have yet to eat or review TLC Austin seafood, even though I live less than 2 miles from it. Located in Lamar Union across from Alamo Drafthouse, this cool new seafood restaurant in Austin opened in December of 2017 and is run by the Manera Restaraunt Group, which has other popular Austin hot spots such as J Black's Feelgood Kitchen and Lounge.
The menu consists of boiled shrimp, crab, lobster and they even have whole Dungeness crab. I ordered the snow crab, cooked with Cajun seasoning (where the appropriate clothes, it's messy). My wife ordered the seafood salad and my friends ordered appetizers, including fried pickles, charbroiled oysters, fries and classic mac and cheese. I had two Chille Mules, a Texas version of the Moscow Mule, using Tito's Vodka. As you can see in the video above, we were not disappointed. The price point of the menu can be high, depending on what you order. If you go for lunch and order one of the sandwiches, you can limit the spending, but as soon as you get into the boiled menu, it adds up. Outside seating includes some cool retro ice chests you can use if you order a six pack of beer. In short, we WILL be back. Loved it there!!! I would go so far as to say this is one of my favorite restaurants in 78704.
TLC Austin Review
So we are having lunch at TLC in Lamar Union with our friends from Santa Monica. We should have taken some video before we ate, but...it was really good. What did you think of the food here?
Delicious! *thumbs up*
Excellent. We'll have a preview of this little bar and restaurant off of Lamar in 78704. More to come.
This is the outside of TLC and every bench has these Coleman retro-style coolers in case you buy a beer or something. This is definitely one of my new favorite spots in Austin for broiled seafood.
