Noteworthy point - One reason that the homes in these areas are not showing a higher rate of appreciation over the last 10 years is that the homes are increasing in size on average. Larger homes typically have a lower price per square foot. If we were not seeing additions on these homes or older homes being torn down and larger new builds put in their place, the appreciation per square foot would be much larger.
