Zilker neighborhood is bordered by the Union Pacific Railroad and S Lamar to the east, Lake Austin to the north, Robert E Lee, Rabb Road and Rae Dell Av. to the west and Barton Skyway and Lightsey Road to the south.

Zilker Neighborhood has something to suit most everyone: proximity to many of Austin's best amenities; parks and green spaces; local shopping, dining, and nightlife; top schools and safe streets.

For those who enjoy the outdoors, Barton Creek Greenbelt, Zilker Park, and the Lady Bird Lake hike and bike trail are nearby. The Botanic Garden, sculpture garden, and Barton Springs Pool are adjacent to the neighborhood.

Those who like shopping and dining will find many local businesses and iconic Austin restaurants and coffee shops in this area. The neighborhood also has many nightclubs and live music venues. 

Do you have kids? Kids love trains, trees, and kites. If it’s the first Sunday in March you’ll want to take your little one to visit the Zilker Kite Festival where you’ll revel in hundreds of colorful kites dotting the big Texas sky. If you find yourself looking for an activity on a December evening, take the tykes to see the magnificent 155-foot-tall Zilker Tree, lit up bright with more than 3,000 lights. If it’s literally any other time of the year between 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., take a ride on the Zilker Zephyr, a miniature train that takes a 20-minute tour of the park.

If all that is not enough, downtown is just a few blocks away. Public bus routes come through the neighborhood and offer access to other parts of the city.

The public schools in Zilker Park Neighborhood are part of Austin Independent School District. Texas School For The Deaf is close by and nearby University Of Texas University Charter School.
